Costaisa presents positive environmental impact results in line with its environmental commitment
Costaisa is firmly committed to protecting the environment and the sustainability of the planet and has just presented its environmental impact results, with a significant reduction in its RAEE (Electrical and Electronic Waste) and the electricity consumption of our Data Processing Center (DPC).
- RAEE reduction: In 2023, we achieved an impressive 30.89% reduction in waste generation compared to the previous year. RAEE contains heavy metals and harmful chemicals, such as oils, phosphorus, arsenic and mercury, which, if not managed properly, can directly affect global warming and the ozone layer.
- Trees and new emissions calculator: We have adopted a new emissions calculator provided by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), which allows us to better assess our impact on deforestation and biodiversity. Although we cannot directly compare with previous periods due to the change in methodology, the results show significant progress with reforestation and ecosystem conservation.
- Reduction of electricity consumption in our DPC: In 2023, we achieved a 9.83% decrease in electricity consumption compared to the reference value (average of the last 5 years).
