SESPA and Hospital Clínic share their experiences in training their residents with Docentis
Costaisa has organized a meeting with teaching managers from the Health Service of the Principality of Asturias (SESPA) and the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, which was also the promoter of Docentis, the most widespread solution in Spain for monitoring the teaching, care and research activity of residents.
Digna Pasín, Secretary of the Teaching Management and Teaching Commission of the Hospital Clínic began her speech by explaining the origins of the initiative, six years ago now, and what were the keys to its implementation and adoption by all professionals. This is precisely the key factor also for Inma Roig, Project Manager of Costaisa and head of Docentis, who stressed that it was "vital to accompany the implementation of the solution with good change management, explaining the initiative well, training users and offering them all the necessary support.
In the opinion of the experts, adaptation is easy in the case of residents because they are digital natives, but in the case of tutors and teachers there may be some resistance to change. "It is very important", pointed out Jesús Vicente García González, from the Transformation and Knowledge Management Service of the Regional Ministry of Health of Asturias, "that the heads of studies and teaching commissions lead the project and also define well the objectives and areas of the rotations, which in Docentis is very well resolved because they are visualized at a glance".
More than 8,000 users, including tutors, residents and evaluators, make up the community of Docentis users, who year after year, use the platform to manage the monitoring of their teaching, care and research activities. The solution allows having a collaborative and online environment, where all daily operations are centralized, collects all the documentation that is generated and also evaluates the participants, as required by law and the protocols of each institution.
