The FSE consolidates its digital health innovation day as a must-attend event on the sector's calendar

Sergi Iglesia

The Fundació Salut Empordà (FSE) has repeated success in the conference on digital transformation that it holds every year and which has had the participation of prominent representatives of the Administration, health providers and service companies such as Costaisa, which has once again collaborated as event sponsor.

The event was attended by Alfons Cornella, a leader in innovation in our country, who held the opening session with interesting revelations about trends in digital health, and also coming from other economic sectors but perfectly applicable to the health sector.

Along the same lines, a round table discussion was organized, coordinated by Jordi Martínez on behalf of the Societat Catalana de Salut Digital, to discuss the importance of data, and where he insisted on the use of standards such as FHIR, Snomed or Loinc, among others, to ensure interoperability.

There were also interesting speeches by Toni Mir, who explained the lines of work being carried out in Brussels around the data, and by Andreu Plaza, who dazzled the audience with his lessons learned at Banco Santander. The banking sector is a few years ahead of the health sector and was very insistent on reinforcing investment in cybersecurity of hospital information systems. This, precisely, is an outstanding line of work for Costaisa next year, where it will deploy its offer of services such as Security Operations Center (SOC), National Security Scheme (ENS) and inviolable backups hosted in the cloud.

The event was chaired by Agnès Lladó, Mayor of Figueras and President of the Board of the FSE, and by Martí Masferrer, Manager of the FSE. Sergi Iglesia, assistant to the management of the FSE, presented the lines of work contemplated in the Digital Transformation Plan of the entity for the coming years, where he highlighted his initiatives in cybersecurity, app and patient portal, digital training of professionals and his Commitment to improving the patient experience.

With more than 700 years of history and nearly 900 workers, the FSE is the reference healthcare network for the Alt Empordà population, and provides primary care health services (L'Escala Basic Health Area), specialized care (Figueres Hospital) and social and health care (Bernat Jaume Social and Health Center).
