Costaisa present at the 1st Catalan Congress of Clinical and Health Management with the patient as the protagonist

SCGS la gestió importaThe Catalan Health Management Society (CHMS) has held its first Congress in Sitges, Barcelona, with a great reception from the sector as it was attended by more than 900 people representing the main players in the sector: Administration, healthcare suppliers , service providers, industry and associations.

The Congress has served to establish a dialogue on the challenges that will mark the transformation of health management in Catalonia in the coming years, which will largely focus on the definition of care policies and programs focused on the patient experience and the recognition of a more active role in the care process.

In Catalonia, transforming projects are being promoted in this sense, such as the use of PROM and PREM for the remote monitoring of patients that Costaisa has been implementing for 2 years, with more than 30 hospitals throughout Spain using this type of questionnaires every day that allow professionals to have information on the evolution of treatments and patient satisfaction on a continuous basis and responding to indicators based on scientific evidence.

These types of solutions have a positive impact in terms of health outcomes and represent significant savings for the health system because they avoid travel, allow quick intervention if an anomaly is detected, and carry out population and comparative studies on the effectiveness of health programs, which until now were very expensive.

Having this information on the real value of each treatment, evidenced by results, is of vital importance in a healthcare planning scenario that is considering a new framework for contracting and evaluating healthcare services.
