Digital Competencies of the Healthcare Professional at the Congress of the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine

Rafael Pardo en Congreso SEMIRafael Pardo, Senior Consultant in eHealth at Costaisa, has been invited to explain his point of view on the digital competences of the healthcare professionals at the 42nd National Congress of the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine (SEMI) that has been held in Santiago de Compostela from November 24 to 26.

Pardo has been part of a group of experts called to debate on information management and literacy in digital health in a round table created for this purpose. In summary, there is little training in digital health and it is considered necessary to include it in the academic curriculum of healthcare professionals so that they know how to optimally use new technologies.

The SEMI integrates around 8,400 internists from all over Spain and its congress is the benchmark event for Spanish Internal Medicine. In this edition, it is estimated that more than 2,500 internists have attended, who have been able to learn about the diagnostic and therapeutic novelties in the management of various and varied pathologies, and where telemedicine has also taken a relevant role.
