Administration and industry present the keys to bring digital transformation to healthcare organizations
The Fundació Salut Empordà (FSE) has organized a conference on digital transformation in which Costaisa has collaborated as a sponsor, and that has had the participation of prominent representatives of the Administration and the business environment to explain the main challenges they have to face to bring innovation to healthcare processes.
Pol Pérez, director of the CatSalut Information Systems area, and Ramon Maspons, coordinator of Innovation and Strategic Foresight of AQuAS, from the Administration, have asked for lowering the level of expectation regarding the allocation of European funds for digital health and have also insisted on the need to rationalize investment in projects and their alignment with the roadmap established by the Administration in its Systems Master Plan, focused on data modeling with open and knowledge-oriented standards.
Frederic Llordachs, CEO of Doctoralia and Doctomatic, and Josep-Lluís Sánchez, founding partner of Kairos X Chronos, showed different innovations in digital health from the health sector and from other sectors that could easily be incorporated into the entire value chain of the healthcare process. Sánchez also contributed his vision on the levers to make the change effective, which are fundamentally focused on empowering professionals and patients, and moving to a ubiquitous vision of health care.
It is noted that the list of options, projects, initiatives and solutions continues to grow at a dizzying pace and most are clearly useful and contribute to improving the quality of life of the patient or professionals, but most are unknown or they offer limitations in their applicability and ethical conflicts, or most of them, involve changes in the allocation of resources and processes that make resistance to change a blocking factor.
The day has also served for Sergi Iglesia, technical secretary of the FSE, to present the entity's Digital Transformation Plan for the coming years, which will allow the organization to work better, in a more agile and secure way, for the benefit of higher quality of care and patient safety.
The event was presided over by Agnès Lladó, Mayor of Figueres and President of the FSE Board of Trustees, and by the General Director of Professionals de la Salut, Montse Gea, who shared the need for healthcare professionals to work on digital skills. Martí Masferrer, Manager of the FSE, advocated to stay behind in the transformation process and that it was necessary to bet on innovation, right and wrong, to be able to evolve and move forward.
With more than 700 years of history and close to 900 workers, the FSE is the benchmark healthcare network for the population of Alt Empordà, and provides primary care health services (Basic Health Area of l'Escala), specialized care (Hospital de Figueres) and of social and health care (Centro Sociosanitario Bernat Jaume).
