Costaisa considers incorporating the new Catalan Surgical Implant Registry into Dataconnect

DataconnectCostaisa attended an informative session organized by the Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya on the project to create the Catalan Surgical Implant Registry (RIQCat), which will serve to quickly identify all patients who have had an implant placed or removed, in case it presents any safety or quality problem.

In Catalonia, we already had the Catalan Arthroplasty Registry (RACat) for knee and hip prostheses implanted in the public healthcare system, but there was no unified registry that included traceability information for all implants and allowed for their monitoring and evaluation.

This will be a new registry that Costaisa will add to DataConnect, our healthcare information integration solution that allows sending mandatory notification data to the Public Administration and insurance companies. In addition to RACat, DataConnect unifies the system for processing, coding and sending certain healthcare and registry management data Joint Minimum Basic Data Set - CMBD (Emergency Care, Hospitalization, Social Health, Day Hospital, PADES, Primary Care), Waiting List and Referrals, and the Comprehensive Emergency Care Plan of Catalonia (PIUC).

Dataconnect allows data to be sent regardless of the healthcare software used in each center, and incorporates a system of dynamic controls and validations based on coding rules that are market standards.

The session also presented the results of the survey conducted in Catalan healthcare centers on the medical devices that are implanted, as well as a first prototype of the access and visualization of the Registry by healthcare centers.
