The National Award went to Dr. Antoni Trilla, Head of Preventive Medicine at the Hospital Clínic and Professor of Preventive Medicine at the University of Barcelona, who also advised the Spanish government on the occasion of the coronavirus disease pandemic.
It is worth highlighting the recognition of Fundació Althaia (improvement of quality in hospitals), Parc Taulí (improvement of quality in the social sphere), and Aliança Estratègica C17 of Hospital Clínic, Consorci Hospitalari de Vic, Hospital de Granollers, Fundació Sanitària de Mollet and Hospital de Sant Celoni (improvement of quality in integrated care).
The Avedis Donabedian Awards were created in 1989 to highlight aspects of the quality of healthcare centers to set trends for the future development of different areas of care management. The awards reward the effort and dedication of professionals in the health and social field, in initiatives that improve the effectiveness and safety in the provision of care to the person or that develop activities for the continuous improvement of the quality of care.
