Value-based medicine takes center stage at the VI Meeting of Experts in Healthcare Management and Health Economics
Costaisa attended the VI Meeting of Experts in Healthcare Management and Health Economics, organized by the UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM), where the main challenges in pharmaceutical policy in our country and the emergence of new technologies as a driving force for innovation were discussed over the two days of the meeting. At the round table moderated by Lluís Segú Tolsa, Associate Professor at UPF-BSM and co-director of the Meeting, the presentation of the "Telepharmacy Naveta Initiative associated with a standard set of PROMs to implement value-based pharmaceutical care" stood out, in which Costaisa actively participated.
Gabriel Mercadal Orfila, Deputy Head of the Pharmacy Service at the Mateu Orfila Hospital in Menorca, presented the Naveta initiative, which has been promoted by the Association of Hospital Pharmacy of the Balearic Islands (FARUPEIB), which he presides over. Naveta offers a simple two-way interaction channel through the Phemium telemedicine and user experience platform, developed by Costaisa, which incorporates more than 140 PROM and PREM questionnaires for monitoring patients' scheduled care programs.
During the day, different proposals were also presented to improve the financing and pricing of medicines. The meeting is part of the Almirall Chair in Management of Pharmaceutical Policy Innovations in the National Health System at UPF-BSM.
