Catalan Health makes a common front to place cybersecurity in its corporate strategy
On July 12, the Catalan health employers' association, La Unió, held an important conference on Cybersecurity in the sector. It was attended by the main authorities and experts in the field and recent cases of cyberattacks were presented, what measures launched and the impact it had on their organizations.
During the session, the heads of the Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia and the Information Systems Area of CatSalut shared the general cybersecurity framework of SISCAT, how it is deployed and the forecast of action plans that organizations should incorporate into their roadmaps in the coming years.
More than 120 professionals participated in the session, such as Costaisa, one of the leading IT companies specializing in healthcare, which has recently strengthened its position in the sector with the acquisition of Davinci TI, an expert cybersecurity consultancy that has been advising the main security managers of medium and large corporations in our country for more than 20 years.
"Thanks to the incorporation of Davinci's expert team together with our extensive knowledge of the health business," says Jordi Campo, Director of Health at Costaisa, "our sector will be able to apply the best practices that are being implemented in other critical sectors such as pharmaceuticals, finance, food, transport and logistics, where we have an extensive and proven track record".
In the second part of the session, the experience of the recent cyberattack suffered by the Hospital Clínic and the phases of the recovery process were shared; and La Unió presented the results of a recently held cybersecurity workshop, as well as its proposals for support to its associates.
