Today, Costaisa presented the launch of the new Online Junior Doctor Log (Libro del Residente Online - LRO) at the Móstoles University Hospital, where junior doctors who started their training this year can now start to log the details of their training activities.
The Móstoles University Hospital is renowned for its vast range of medical, research and training services. Around 120 junior doctors will use the LRO every year and "it has allowed the hospital to collect information in a simple, standardised format, making revision and supervision much easier for tutors", explains Olivia Cuenca, Senior Account Manager at Costaisa.
The event was organised by the hospital and attended by Dr Manuel Galindo, Hospital Manager; Dr Nieves Tarín, Medical Director; Manuela Mateos, Director of Nursing; and Dr Rosa Cuberes, Head of Studies.
According to Inma Roig, Product Manager at Costaisa, who presented the solution, "it marks a significant step forward from traditional, paper-based data collection or the use of office tools and databases, which are not very flexible or efficient".
During the presentation, three junior doctors specialising in different areas shared their personal experience of using the tool and stressed the importance of have a single point of access to their rotation schedule, medical activities (surgery, rounds, external consultation, referrals, specialist techniques and on-call), teaching activities (clinical sessions, talks, lectures, courses and conferences) and research activities (communications, publications, thesis, research grants, lines of research, scientific awards and involvement in committees, boards and companies).
