AI and chronicity merge in the first online webinar organized by Bioinformatics Barcelona

Webinar BIBAbout a hundred people have attended the first webinar that Bioinformatics Barcelona (BIB) has organized, and which has wanted to explore the possibilities of applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the care of chronicity. The Institut Català de la Salut (ICS), Boehringer Ingelheim, Amalfi Analytics, Bitac and Costaisa, have been invited to present our vision throughout the care process, from the exchange of data or the use of terminological standards, to the application of Big Data, Machine Learning and advanced analytics.

Daniel Alomar, Product Manager of Dataconnect in Costaisa and member of the Interoperability Working Group at Fenin, explained the importance of guaranteeing the quality of the data in order to be able to consider any project to exploit them. In this sense, Dataconnect is a solution that unifies the system for processing and sending certain healthcare data and for managing the records of the Minimum Basic Data Set, which offers an enormous possibility of analytical and predictive exploitation.

The BIB was born five years ago with the purpose of being a link between administration, universities and knowledge centers, companies and civil society, to generate initiatives and collaborative dynamics that allow Barcelona and Catalonia to become a leading scientific cluster in the south of Europe in the field of bioinformatics.
