The CMMI in software engineering and organizational development is a process improvement approach that provides organizations the essential elements for improving processes in an effective manner.

Costaisa is a technology solutions company that for years has implemented a methodology for software development focused on continuous improvement. In an effort to be a world leader in development of software and methodology, in mid- 2011 began an Improvement Team to work with the objective of obtaining the CMMI accreditation.

Improvement Team in charge of this project is multidisciplinary and integrates professional profiles and various divisions involved in software development (Development Division , Department of Methodology and Quality) . This team has done a review, optimization and adaptation of the existing internal procedures to the requirements demanded by the certification.

This project has been partially funded by the Ministry of Tourism and Trade via the Avanza Plan.

The Model CMMI -DEV v1.3 Level 2 defines a set of best practices and covers the product life cycle, from conception to delivery. This accreditation grants a measurable level of quality in software engineering, recognized internationally, and brings in COSTAISA in the small group of companies in Spain that have a CMMI accreditation.
