Position professionalisation and depoliticisation takes centre stage at the 20th National Congress of Hospitals

SEDISA (Spanish Association of Healthcare Executives) organised the traditional National Congress of Hospitals and Healthcare Management that each year brings together over 2000 healthcare executives and 200 companies in the sector. The city of Seville was chosen this year to host this twentieth edition of the three-day event.

Experts at the event demanded commitment from healthcare authorities and political parties to professionalise and depoliticise appointments to executive positions. Establishing objective criteria and standardised procedures with public and transparent scales is required to break the dynamics of any change in government.

"Professionalising also requires sensitising and training executives in the need for product and service innovation, both inside and outside their organisations, associating themselves with companies and research centres that specialise in the area to be developed and that are capable of bringing innovation to the market," said Jordi Buisan, Manager of Business Development at Costaisa and member of SEDISA, who attended the congress.
