Jaén chooses GestPath as a management solution for its pathology laboratories

Logo de GestPathCostaisa and Esblada Medical Solutions have been awarded contract for the implementation of a pathology anatomy information system for health centres in the province of Jaén belonging to the Andalusian Health Service (SAS): the Jaén Hospital, the San Juan de la Cruz Hospital of Úbeda and the San Agustín Hospital of Linares.

GestPath, the winning solution, covers all workflow associated with pathological study and is integrated with all the elements of the laboratory, from the request for examinations to the submission of the final report. It was developed by Esblada Medical, which has a team of engineers specialised in Pathological Anatomy, partnered by Costaisa for international marketing in LATAM, collaborating on the integration for large implementation projects.

GestPath allows for the management of all processes associated with each type of study, displaying the corresponding screens and functionalities that each user needs in their daily work. The digitalisation begins in the order of work and arrival of the samples to the laboratory and ends with the digital sending and certification of the diagnostic reports and the subsequent archiving of samples in the service.
It is integrated with the information systems of each hospital through the HL7 protocol, in addition to specific pathological anatomy machines and devices: cassette and label printers, scanners, cameras, dyeing machines, etc.

The solution chosen by Jaén is being used in pathology departments in more than 30 centres in three countries with different regulatory frameworks, demonstrating its adaptability and configuration flexibility. There is also a network of centres with which the continuous improvement and development of the application is carried out.
